Some Bitter Truths Poem by Dr John Celes

Some Bitter Truths

The corrupt can't wipe out most corruption;
Thieves can't ensure safety of property;
Evil-doers can't promote righteousness;
Guardians of justice must be quite honest.

Powerful mustn't misuse authority;
Encounter deaths is murder very foul;
Abortion is homicide of unborn;
Hate cannot unify the world at large.

Wars cannot bring the lasting peace we want;
The heinous crimes on innocents are worst;
Wisdom is not just being worldly-wise;
God will punish the wicked in due time.

Not helping the distressed is inhuman;
Bullets and swords can't ensure peace always;
The beggar poor is soul as much as rich;
Judgment of God is ultimate to all.
