Someday Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Someday

Someday
when
Winters
Are gone
And the
Summer
Heat is
Strong.

When the
Monsoon
Rains
Heart seeks
Cacti
Will
Still bloom
Still heave.

I too am
A cactus
Plant
No more
Leaves
Just thorns
Have chance.

I stand alone
In deserted
Streets
All by myself
To dunes
I speak

I don't dream
Of lush Grasslands
Have no lakes
Or exotic plants.

I don't want
Oasis grand
I just dream, of
Gypsy's band
Bringing colour,
to deserts
Bland.
And so no more
Alone I stand.
