Someone Drew This Map Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Someone Drew This Map

Someone drew this map
It fits perfectly, like a cap
The geography of universe
Who knows how they did the converse

Mountains and hills fixed like pegs
Oceans, seas, rivers are waters in different kegs
Natural vegetation similar to flowers in a park
And the goodness in a tree and its bark

The weather is different from north to south
Get the message as food passes through your mouth
People change in colour from east to west
Similar to water wave crest

What if the earth were a carpet
Then the clouds were packed in a sachet
The grasslands are made like rugs
Deserts are dark batches; deadly as hard drugs

As a natural map in awesome beauty
Keeping it intact is our duty
Sanitize the landscapes and the terraces
Lest we all forget, we hold the aces
