Somerset Maugham Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Somerset Maugham

Born into a family of
Solicitors, barristers and lawyers,
Schooled in England and Germany,
He was intended to be a medical practitioner
But the things happened it otherwise
And moved by the working class lives
And their pains
That he quit it the profession
For the passion of writing
And for being impulsive to creativity
He turned to literature
With his cosmopolitan stance.
