Something In The Air Poem by Ryan Davis

Something In The Air

Something in the air
is telling me I dare not speak.
Something in the air
is telling me to 'hush now'.
Talking about the agony
of my various strife
won't make it better,
even with all of the wondering
and offers to help
that may come my way,
something in the air
is telling me to keep mum
and my calls for help to be silent,
as the stigma proves too powerful,
appearing all around
pointing it's fingers,
and priming to pounce
with its scorn
and pepper with shame and guilt.
And a explanation
scattered as it will sound,
all the tears
dry as they will appear,
will prove nothing but futile
and alone is the only feeling
that will remain
when it's all said and done.
