Something That Is Real Poem by Alison Mary Dunn

Something That Is Real

I follow uncertain lines
Because I like not knowing
The paths within these rhymes
Nor when or where they’re going

Words seem to breathe alone
And fill a space that I cannot
I feel release when they have grown
They bring the peace that I have sought

They surface from an inner sun
The artist’s hidden Passion Flower
These revelations as they come
Appear explosive in their power

Engaging me to see much more
The full extent of what I feel
And somehow in them I’ll explore
The touch of something that is real
