Sometimes

Sometimes, my son
we may feel the going is not good-
the times are against us;
why this, and why that?
The mind asks a million
Questions…
Searching for an answer everywhere-
But finding none!

"Man proposes and God disposes"
so, we are told;
but why? - we may ask.
What we may not know is-
what might seem wrong today
may be right
for us, for the moment.
For we know not what future holds-
the Now- may be the best.

What we must do, is, take the call,
Face it, Brave it and Act on it,
the best that we can.
Perhaps the ‘now', is a moment of reckoning
for a future so great- we cannot foresee.
There is a silence before a storm.
This may be a silence before a windfall
never dreamt of!

We are but only human, my son
What I say to you now, I would say to you always
We must act, that is our call
Greet and surmise the present
As it stands
Beckoning us,
testing us in ways beyond our seeing…
We can do what we must- stand and witness…

The future holds a promise far greater than
your yesterdays.
Why are you impatient and feeling down?
Has HE ever let you down
that HE will now?

Remember, it is the chosen ones
who are put to test
So harness and excel as you always have!
Only look within and above
and leave the rest.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Life is like a river; it has many ups and downs. What is important is how we stand by and support one another and how we face a period of trial. This poem was created when I felt that my son needed a silent but encouraging pat on the shoulder to gear up! It did wonders for us both!

Since, it is based on your own experience the entire narrative is quite impressive as is backed by your actions and your confidence in the power of 'now'. It's a motivational poem. The language and the phrases employed by the poet make it a power-packed writing. Thanks. Man proposes and God disposes There is a silence before a storm. Perhaps the ‘now', is a moment of reckoning for a future so great- we cannot foresee.
