Sometimes I just wonder
When from Heaven Jesus is looking down,
Sometimes I also just ponder
On those times does he wear a frown.
When people are hearing his teachings
As they are sitting in a pew,
When people are reading his preachings
Meant always for both me and you.
When his words we do not obey
As the Lord said that we always should,
And when for others we don't help or pray
And we do evil instead of good.
We hate the poor, the stranger and the needy
We judge and accuse others from the root,
And we praise the wealthy and the seedy
We will all be known by our fruit.
We hate those who are different from us
While wearing our fine clothes,
At others we swear and cuss
And at them we turn up our nose.
We go to church on Sunday every week
We listen to preachings and sermons all day long,
Salvation we do seek
And we judge all of those who we believe is wrong.
I wonder if Jesus is shaking his head
When he looks down upon us to watch and listen,
And we don't obey his teachings both spoken and read
Does he say, 'Stop calling yourselves a Christian".
