Somewhat Blinded By Loss Poem by Angela Bontle Ditumiso

Somewhat Blinded By Loss

It was autumn
The season I lost
Everything I ever cared about
Stricken by grief
I got so down from losing
All my leaves I fell
And for a long while
Settled in an abyss

Fast forward
It was spring
I was trying hard to revive
All the leaves at my feet
I didn't realize I had new ones
