Somewhere Among The Stars Poem by Ashley Seymour

Somewhere Among The Stars

I wonder if you’re watching,
I wonder if you see,
I wonder if you hear my prayers,
Where ever you may be.

It hurts the most,
On special days,
Just like the one that’s near.
And sadness looms among the joy,
Because you’re not, (but should be) here.

Days and weeks,
And Months go by,
And years have past,
How time does fly.

I wonder if you’re still with us,
Or if you’re lost on Mars,
I wonder if you’re smiling,
Somewhere among the stars.

Are you still proud of our achievements?
Do you ache when we feel pain?
Does our pointless arguing,
Still give you a migraine?

Do you ever ponder,
The way things used to be?
Was suicide the answer?
Did dying really set you free?

When your children cry for you,
Is it ten times worse than death?
I hope you feel the crushing blow,
We felt with your last breath.

I walked across the stage today,
My diploma in my hand,
As my loving family,
Yelled and cheered from in the stands.

But there was one voice missing,
A grate sadness hit me then,
A vacant seat among them,
Where you, (my mother) should have been.

I hope you know I miss you,
In my dreams you always are,
I hope my love can reach you,
Up there among the stars.
