Somewhere At Sea (The Seagull And I) Poem by Sophie Allyah

Somewhere At Sea (The Seagull And I)

The seagulls dominate the sea
That is how I remarkably see
These birds perfected the painted view
Of the sky in the sea of the morning dew
How nice to see them glide through the air
Coveting as I pleasantly stare
How they plunged like a dagger
And stayed in the ship's foremast together
The gulls are birds born for the sea
They stand out from others, don't you agree?

One morning of October seventeen
I was taking soundings then
I wore a hat to shade my eyes from the sun
Better than sunglass which I also have one
It was a breezy morning so it was fine
At exactly zero-eight-oh-nine
I was pulling the sounding line to get
Suddenly a young seagull landed on my head
So I carefully grab my cellphone for the set
As a result are photos to look at before bed
