When I was a lad in '74 - it seems like yesterday.
Me, my sister, mum and dad were nearly blown away.
The town that we all lived in was a paradise for kids:
we loved that wild freedom, to do as just we did.

But Arafura fury, beyond horizons,
was a swelling, boiling Sea, pent-up with rage.
Many boats risked sinking or capsizing,
as the violent winds unleashed were hard to guage.
