Song For Love Poem by Madelene Calalo

Song For Love

One day…
Just as the morning passed me by,
I heard an old man shouting,
Will anyone just come see me die?

I guessed he was lonely...
And I guess I was right.
The only thing left with him now
Is nothing but solitary fright.

Walking down the road,
I watched as little boys cry
With cuts and bruises on their hands and faces
And marks of torment in their eyes.

What makes up of the world today?
Everyone’s heart is broken.
If only there was a way,
To let love be known.
Let love be known.

Yet I wonder,
We all know what love is, right?
but do we all know how it feels?
do we all know how it feels?

In the corners of the streets
I saw young ladies sit.
With packs of powder on their hands
And noticed small smiles that lit.

But behind those little laughs,
I hear their sorrows shout.
Through the blindness in their highs they say,
What is my life about?

What makes up of the world today?
Everyone’s heart is broken.
If only there was a way
To let love be known.
Let love be known.

Yet I wonder,
We all know what love is, right?
but do we all know how it feels?
do we all know how it feels?

We all know what pain is.
We surely do know how it feels.
But What about love?
Not everyone truly knows how it feels.

Do you?

What a great song this is! Unfortunately I also do believe that more people these days seem to know the pain of hurt more than the warmth of love. Your song depicts this perfectly!
