Song Of A Free Indian Poem by Dr John Celes

Song Of A Free Indian

Beloved India got her freedom today;
All Indians are my sisters and brothers;
I'll remember the lives lost for this day;
I'll fight for my people, fathers, mothers.

I'll make my country proud and keep off foes;
I'll love my motherland with all my heart;
I'll keep awake, always upon my toes;
I will defend my land till I depart.

I'll sacrifice my life for country's sake;
I'll spill my blood for nation's dignity;
My fellowmen to progress, I will take;
I'll vouch for my country's integrity.

Each Indian has a lion's heart to spare;
Each Indian wants peace with neighbours to share;
To divide us, let aliens never dare;
My love, respect for India is so rare!
