Sonnet 50 Poem by Liane Carlo Suelan

Sonnet 50

May I compare you to a gentle breeze
Kissing my cheeks as it passes by me,
Caressing my hair, bringing me to peace
From the tension, the pain that come haunt me?
A breeze so gentle, a breeze so lovely,
A cool breeze that just comes and then just leaves;
that leaves me repining as it bereaves
Me of the comfort it brings so hea'nly.

'Come back! ' begs my heart as you pass me by
But though this heart beats for you, I know not why
Nor even why I am blissful and still
When you pass and bring me my unfound will;
But once, with your lips, could you kiss my cheeks
And with your arms embrace me as my heart seeks?
