Sonnet: An Introspection Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: An Introspection

Rating: 5.0

When my own people keep me in this state;
I wonder if I should change my workplace;
O God, I'm caught between myself and fate;
Nevertheless, I'll bravely problems face.

Tho' problems big, they fizzle out some day;
More patience, cultivate, let me, some more;
But change the world, can I, in my own way?
If not O God, open a newer door.

I feel, I must be selfish in this world;
How much more time should I waste on others?
Let me remain myself, O God, be bold,
But let me never harm my own brothers.

I leave the things I cannot solve to God;
If good for me, I know He'll do, my Lord.
