Sonnet: Change The Dismal Future Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Change The Dismal Future

Rating: 5.0

If none will plough the field and sow the seed,
And river beds are dry by man's design,
Imagine how the populace can feed,
Or make the water potable from brine.

If nation's corruption turns bad to worse,
And ones in power accrue wealth untold,
Then crimes on innocents will bring God's curse,
As youth don't care for ailing poor and old.

The love of brethren must regain its place;
Obedience to elders must be prime;
Peel off the mask of affection from face;
All wounds of minds and hearts can't heal with time.

The youth must have priorities in life;
All ventures bring new challenges and strife.
