At first shy blush of rosy dawn flowers wake
And to the east their perfumed petals spread
To trace the path the sun shall daily take
Till in the west it makes its fiery bed.
Thus also when my love at morning’s light
does open up her eyes to meet my gaze,
I am commingled in that glorious sight
and know to follow it through all my days.
From when our love at first had taken birth
in days of youthful roses and champagne
until we rest together in the earth,
sun, moon and stars our loving will sustain.
All worldly flowers our happiness shall know
and envy, as towards the sun we grow.
