Sonnet-God, I Wish To Sin No More Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet-God, I Wish To Sin No More

Protect me Lord from nasty world of men,
Who yearn to see my weak moments of life;
For making money, they use all their ken;
And try to put me unduely in strife.

The tempter wants to misguide them and me,
Sometimes, I fall a prey to its designs;
My guilty conscience goads me rightfully;
My Angel Guardian suitably opines.

To err and sin is human nature, yet;
How long can we wallow in this mud, God?
Let us not fall into the tempter's net,
Like Mackerel, Pike, Halibut and Cod.

0 help us Lord to stop committing sin;
Our habit like smoking and drinking gin.
