Sonnet: God Made Our First Parents Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: God Made Our First Parents

When all things had been created, God found
‘It was not good for man to be alone! '
He put Adam into a slumber sound,
And made Eve from a piece of his rib-bone!

From man, Eve came and so was called ‘woman',
And thus the first couple had come to be;
‘What God hath joined, separate let no man, '
For they were made one through Matrimony!

Adultery became a grievous sin!
The purity of man's lineage, God wants;
Against the tempter's designs, we must win;
As Jesus did, we all can, Bible chants!

God did all things for good of man on earth,
But man undoes God's tenets right from birth!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
God wants all species to proliferate and man in but a destined way!
