Sonnet-God's Mercy To Me Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet-God's Mercy To Me

How blessed am I when I behold others!
God's been so kind to me in umptine ways;
My heart is touched by my ailing brothers,
Diseased, suff'ring- they seem to count their days.

The afflictions I underwent are few;
Has God not spared me from ailments I see?
I am a newer leaf with Blessings' dew,
Compared to most brethren, I've been lucky!

0 God, I've got to pass my rest of days;
Let Heaven's will guide me in things I do;
To do much better things, I need God's grace;
For, Eternity, I must surely woo!

This worldly life is just a passing phase;
When God's my Friend, I'll wear a smiling face.
