Sonnet: God Saves The Righteous Souls Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: God Saves The Righteous Souls

Rating: 5.0

A Righteous man turned one day somewhat bad!
‘His troubles came ’cause he was good, ’ he thought;
More money came, he was now not so sad;
Immersed in worldly things, he God forgot.

For quite some time, his life seemed fine but still,
He felt dissatisfied in mind and heart;
He thought of God one day, when he grew ill,
And thanked Him when he regained health in part.

God helped the man turn upright once again!
His woes came back but faith kept him steadfast;
The upper hand, the devil could not gain;
The man atoned for all his sins of past.

God cannot bear one good soul go to Hell;
He purifies the soul to sooner dwell.
