A man had lived all life in sinfulness;
He tried his best to keep away from sin;
The Liar lied that sin gives happiness;
The war against the Tempter, he couldn't win.
When as a boy, he dreamed of being saint;
He often fell in sin and felt remorse;
His soul's canvas, with grace, he could not paint;
All life, he could not keep his righteous course.
But every time he sinned, he felt the guilt;
He prayed much harder than before each time;
Like river, grace afilled soul sans sin's silt;
A time came when God made his life sublime.
Each sinner has a future; saint, a past;
Yet, godliness takes time to smile, not fast.
