Sonnet: Hold On To God Always Poem by Dr John Celes

If Truth be God and Truth is what I say,
Despite the evil thoughts that come my way;
No matter how things happen anyday,
The Almighty will hold evil at bay.

If God be Goodness, good I always stay,
Despite the Tempters ways to spoil my days;
And walk I always in celestial way,
Then God within my heart remains always.

If God be just and justice seek I here,
If not for me, for others at least say;
My heart and mind need not be filled with fear,
For life on earth and Heaven will be gay.
With God beside, what can go wrong I say?
And if they do well, I will always pray.
