Sonnet-Human Power Is A Naught Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet-Human Power Is A Naught

God made all things with purpose specific;
Misuses man in ways unnatural;
Sometimes, the sequelae are terrific,
When Nature turns the Earth into a hell.

No man dare do a thing that is 'gainst God;
Both good and bad happen if He allows;
Even the best of Kings on earth is clod!
A man can't go to hell if Maker loves.

Our human pow’r is useless 'gainst God's might;
'Tis foolishness to think money is all;
And man can't see well like some beasts at night;
All men in sin repeatedly do fall.
God is the only One whom we can trust;
He gave us glory tho' we are mere dust.
