Sonnet: India Today - Poem by Dr. A.Celestine Raj Manohar M.D.,

When burglaries and thefts are on the rise;
When people’s voice is stifled unjustly;
When skyrockets over the years, the price;
When ordinances are signed hastily!

When people get arrested without norms;
When cops themselves are killed in broad daylight;
When sold outside are stamps and government-forms;
When danger lurks for everyone at night!

Where has the freedom gone that Gandhi gave?
What is the use of such democracy?
When men in power, high-handed behave;
When states are corrupt; leaders go crazy!

Though freedom we’d got, yet free we are not!
God save the country from this trend of Rot!

    a superb poem sir though not a superb idea expressed in the poem.it kills me to hear complaints about India... but that is what India Today has become worth of.

    let us sir come together and do something great for Our Great India.
