Sonnet: Is It My Time? Poem by Philip Caldwell

Sonnet: Is It My Time?

What such a villain, then that villain time,
Your provoking is yet so displeasing.
Should I spare you of your infamous crime?
For your being here has so much meaning.

Now come onto me thy Widowmaker,
Racing against you is to be absurd.
You mock and tempt me to dare forsake her,
Your treacherous gestures also unheard.

However I can not hold you at fault,
Control of actions the hourglass lost.
Such power you hold in this endless vault,
For next my reasoning will not be cross.

Yet, I can't deny you and your presence,
Eternal and blissful evanescence.
