Philip Caldwell Poems

The call has been heard
and the Siren's song plays.
Kissing the dreams of reality,
my dream diminishes.
...

Vacancy has taken presence,
upon our earth,
I am the only one left...
Desolation has become
...

Roses that uproot,
to be placed
as a token of love.
A myriad of velvet lay,
...

Kneeling before the bed,
dry tears come across my face.
The aroma of dormancy I pray for.
To never again see the morning...
...

What such a villain, then that villain time,
Your provoking is yet so displeasing.
Should I spare you of your infamous crime?
For your being here has so much meaning.
...

Falling from the heavens,
weary the angel sings.
Flying up I can not,
curse these broken wings.
...

You lie in a painful hibernation.
It seems I however,
am the final judge of your life.
But who am I to play god?

The Martyr's Call

The call has been heard
and the Siren's song plays.
Kissing the dreams of reality,
my dream diminishes.
Sands of time keep flowing,
aghast the final niche,
a solemn goodbye,
my time is at it's resolution.

The call has been heard
and wisdom herself,
holds out her hand.
Life's equation resounds.
Balance is in check,
I heed the Martyr's call.
If others choose to rise,
It is I who must fall.
