Sonnet: Love These Days? Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Love These Days?

Rating: 5.0

Blood is thicker than water- people say!
Blood is so much like water, nowadays!
Where has the love of siblings gone today?
Lack of harmony is seen in ev’ry face.

The old social order is crumbling fast;
The modern man is busy virtually;
People refuse to just forget the past;
As life gets spent on earth, unnaturally.

No more true love exists ‘tween man and man!
Distrust prevails in every step, we take;
The undue stress has reduced man’s life-span;
Much glamour, pomp and show keep men awake.

Yet, why are things happ’ning in these sad ways?
Perhaps, the earth has reached its final days!
