Sonnet M - Elizabeth My Queen Thou Art So Fair Poem by Valerie Dohren

Sonnet M - Elizabeth My Queen Thou Art So Fair

Shakespeare sucking up to Queen Elizabeth I.

Sonnet M - Elizabeth My Queen Thou Art So Fair

Elizabeth, my Queen, thou art so fair
With pearls and gemstones in thy hair entwined
I to a bloomin' rose wouldst thee compare
As so mine eyes be ever thus inclined
If I couldst be thy faithful Romeo
And thou mine sweet entrancing Juliet
To heav'nly regions we-to-fore couldst go
Thenceforward ‘that' Bob Dudley to forget
For I wouldst give thou greater love than he
More comely gifts forever to bestow
Pray say, is this to be or not to be?
Is thus thine answer spake as ‘yes' or ‘no'
………. ‘Tis but a dream on this midsummer night -
………. Forthwith, thou needst release me from this plight
