Sonnet: Matrimony Is Holy Poem by Dr John Celes

If marriages are made in heaven, then
Our faith and trust in God won't be in vain;
God shows the spouses best for our children;
Our prayers bring the miracles like rain.

God keeps the families unfit far away;
No one can dupe the devout Christian soul;
The love of golden pomp and show holds sway
Of those, who long for wealth as only goal.

The Sacrament of Matrimony's great;
Two righteous persons share this sacred bond
Of sexes opposite, and 'Tis not fate;
God makes the lake of life appear a pond!

No one dare put asunder what God joined;
Thus, Holy Matrimony term is coined!
