Sonnet: Most People These Days Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Most People These Days

Rating: 5.0

Some people cheat me; themselves do they cheat!
Some people stab me but I will not die;
Some people spread lies by their loud drumbeat;
But like a log-like Buddha, I still lie!

Some persons mislead but to no avail;
Some persons misinform but can’t succeed;
Some use influence, truth but will prevail;
Soon land you will see! Waters will recede.

These people seem to be blind as a bat;
Their veil of sins covers their earthly eyes;
Money ill-earned can make them thin or fat!
Addicted they’re to a world of big lies!

Just a few good souls God, I seem to see!
And even such minds, confused seem to be.
