The land has rivers flowing out to seas,
But states’ riparian people heartless stay;
The land has democracy but not peace,
For corruption is rampant every day!
The land has oil and natural resources,
But billion brethren make them dearer, aye!
The land has soil and sun and great forces,
But not the will to keep the foes at bay!
The waning patriotism must blame;
The laboring populace is on the wane;
Forgotten too is how the freedom came!
Democracy’s boon has become a bane!
Things can improve with leaders better, say;
Corruption must be tackled, come what may!

Congratulations! 'our land is ruled by the Gods of various religions. They will take care'..I used to hear this sentence in a different way when I stayed in a poor country in South Asia.
