Sonnet: My Soul… Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: My Soul…

Athirst for you my soul remains O God;
Let grace of thine make it sin-free O Lord;
Sans purity, it cannot soar to thee;
Forgive me my trespasses totally.

You have a banquet laid for righteous souls;
You will reward all those with holy roles;
You are my only light and truth and way;
O Shepherd good, don't let me go astray.

My heart yearns for your love and compassion;
May I walk in thine foot-steps with passion?
And let me sing all joyous songs of praise;
I long to walk thine road with heaven's gaze.

O Creator and Master Almighty!
My soul in after-life must embrace thee.
