Sonnet: O Thank The Lord Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: O Thank The Lord

Rating: 3.5

God has punished us, not enough as yet;
Contrarily, He has been very kind;
To His Mercy, we are always in debt;
Disgruntled yet remain earthlings, we find.

Has He not spared us from strange diseases,
Those kill or make our earthly life worthless?
He has not broken our clay to pieces!
Yet, man remains in utter selfishness.

Has He not helped us in times of distress,
When foolish were our aims/ achieving means?
Has He not relieved our mind’s/ body’s stress,
And introduced in our life happy scenes?

We are so lucky and must be grateful;
God loves us so much- let us be thankful.
