Sonnet: On Being A Roman Catholic... Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On Being A Roman Catholic...

Rating: 2.8

Being a Catholic is by grace of God –
A life of faith in saviour Christ, so prime;
To other creeds, it may look rather odd;
The holy Bible stands the test of time!

Christ is the Light and Truth and only Way,
For men on earth to enter God’s abode;
All worldly things can never have their sway;
The Ten Commandments is the conduct code!

God tests a Catholic’s faith all through his life;
The love of Jesus goads him farther on;
Travail or tribulations may be rife;
A garb of sinless state, the soul must don!

His love of God like refined Gold must stay;
The Son will judge him favourably that Day!
