Sonnet: Our Earthly Stay Is For Heaven Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Our Earthly Stay Is For Heaven

A bed of roses- how long can it last?
A bed of foam to powder doth crumble;
A bed of thistles- when man gets self-cast!
No use shall be one’s groaning or grumble.

Some men with eyes can’t see even daylight!
Some men with eyes live lives all dark/self-made;
Some men born blind in darkness still see light;
Some men go blind because of greed for jade!

God gave man senses special with a goal;
God gave men freedom/ Will to heed His Will;
God gives men talents/ gifts as per his role;
And saves him when his soul in sin is ill!

Let heaven be man’s earthly dream all life!
Attaining it despite his earthly strife.
