Sonnet: Protect Me, Lord Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Protect Me, Lord

Rating: 5.0

Protect me, Lord, for I have come to Thee,
For shelter and protection against my foes;
And righteousness endangered finally,
Amidst my earthly travail, and my woes.

I've reached the final lap of race on earth;
I have to run the extra mile on time;
I've done the purpose for which I had birth;
But, I must keep my earthly stay sublime.

Give me my health of body, mind and soul;
Give me the heart to bravely do the rest;
Give me the grace to reach intended goal;
I must prepare for my ultimate Test.

Oh, help me Lord as you have always done;
I wish to sinlessly embrace Thine Son!

've reached the final lap of race on earth; I have to run the extra mile on time; I've done the purpose for which I had birth; But, I must keep my earthly stay sublime. Lost in deep prayer. tony
