Sonnet: The Eye

Rating: 2.3
The Eye- ‘window of the animal brain’-
A gift of God that helps appreciate life,
Discerning Nature’s beauty in the main;
Blindness is man’s most intolerable strife!

Man’s living camera that guides him see
With vision binocular, things near and far;
Images fall on screen retinally;
Man sees in darkness too, the moon and star.

Yet, some are born with eyes that cannot see!
And some can see only with aided eyes;
And some just failed correcting malady;
A man who cannot see his soul sure dies.

The face is truly handicapped if blind;
All Nature’s beauty, most blind cannot find,
Dr John Celes
