Sonnet: When Needs Arise In Life … Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: When Needs Arise In Life …

Rating: 5.0

If man is put in undue stress and strain,
And need for wealth and name and fame arise,
From heaven comes down grace of God like rain:
By perseverance, toil, he can surprise.

Hard labor pays rich dividends so fast;
God sees his heart and aids him reach his aim;
Despair becomes a thing erased of past;
He wins with ease honorably life's game!

When needs arise in life and you can toil,
The God-believer reaps a harvest rich;
His vessel fills to brim with heaven's oil -
And glory comes to him without a hitch.

The world is struck with awe and wonderment,
And people build him soon a monument!
