Sonnet: Woes Too Come For Our Good - Poem by Dr. A.Celestine Raj Manohar M.D.,
However high, you climb up life's ladder,
You can't be far away from earth's surface;
Neither have you gone to Heaven nearer,
Unless your soul's goodness is strong in base.
Bad things too happen only for our good,
Our problems tune our minds and hearts to God;
Without his woes, man forgets mortal-hood;
Behaving uncreaturely, very odd.
And yet, the devils can't tempt man for long;
The One most High is watching every scene;
He hears each earthling’s lament, plaintive song;
The God who made us, never can be mean.
Unfathomed stays the love of God for Man;
His judgement fair comes from His ba1ance-pan.
