Soothsayer Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Soothsayer

Rating: 5.0

A soothsayer is
Not who reads
your tarots right,
But who reads your mind
and tells you
what you want to hear.

A Sestertius was an Ancient Roman coin. It was frequently used in trade. Its value was two and a half , another Roman coin. Four sestertii were worth a denarius, another coin worth ten Asses (singular of Asses is ‘As')

Remember, Caesar did not throw a Sestertius or even an as to the Soothsayer who warned him of the Ides Of March twice. Instead, he should have told Caesar that Caesar would be crowned the Emperor of Rome and Caesar would have covered him with gold.
