Look into my soul
with your eyes of healing.
Open a door that has been shut
and let in the much needed light.
My heart has been rescued
now what about my soul.
Please tell me you haven't forgotten
about my soul who save the body's life.
The soul who rejoiced for a moment
until depression snuck in and attacked.
Woe is my soul, woe is my soul
forced to hide the bruises depression left behind.
Forced to keep the body alive
when it can't barely thrive.
Please tell me you've found the door
please tell me you're healing the places that are sore.
'Keep living' is all the heart says
'I'm not dying' is the soul new motto.
Shhh...something feels different and my
body has a sense of peace.
The soul is resting
while the heart's warmth is its cover.
You've looked into my soul with your eyes
unlocked the door and brought in more than light,
you brought in hope.
