Soul Of A Man, Heart Of A Beast Poem by Allen Steble The Philosophical Poet

Soul Of A Man, Heart Of A Beast

There is a war within me
One that rages on silently
Invisibly
Yet with such civility
Order and chaos
I hear the quiet screams
Within my peaceful dreams
The cries for help
To escape from hell
But there is nothing I can do
For there is a dividing
A dividing between
Body and soul
Spirit and mind
For I have the soul of a man
But the heart of a beast
