POEM " SOUL POSSESSION " by martin gedge
Something hides from deep inside
this dark and dampened hole
so black as pitch and deep as ditch
that hell remains the soul
and dead of eyes will roll and rise
to steam the tainted pane
and watch the glass of shadows pass
in prints of cherry stain
tension bares suspected fears
to scream into the night
to scratch and crawl the bedroom wall
with chills as sharp as bite
you feel the frenzy in the air
to rack the gnawing brain
to knock upon forbidden doors
and drive the mad insane
there she breathes this haunted heart
to beat with every tick
the pulse of every shingle row
to move with every brick
a fool the step beyond the gate
one grave to call your own
one bell to ring will call the thing
to be your chaperone
and dust will dine with spit and wine
with fortunes to impale
a bloody smear to witness here
this house is not for sale....
