Soul Skin Poem by John Paul Butler

Soul Skin

Around my flesh
I have a soul skin
It's like an aura
That l keep myself in
Which l can flex
When out of my head
And feel my flesh
Numb but not dead
When my soul emerges
My body withdraws
I become what l am
To all natural laws
But when l'm out there
An experienced ghost
Like a near dead patient
I come back to my host
As under my soul
There's a mortal skin
To which l return
But won't hide within
