The Big Apple In My Throat #2 Poem by John Paul Butler

The Big Apple In My Throat #2

I was bitten by the Big Apple
I was bitten to my core
Now it's the apple of my eye
It's now the apple of so much more
Now it's the apple in my throat
When it chokes l could die
And it's the apple inside my gut
When it reacts then so do l

Sank my teeth into the Big Apple
And the life contained within
Sank my teeth into the Big Apple
Felt a bite in my own skin
And ‘cause l'd bitten the Big Apple
Took a piece alive and free
‘Cause l'd bitten the Big Apple
Is that the reason it bit me
