South-West Poem by Joyce Hemsley

South-West

Oh to holiday in Britain
Visit Devon and take your rest
No fairer place to spend your days
Than in the warmth of
England's south-west.

Pilgrim Fathers sailed from The Sound,
Drake sailed to defeat the Armada,
And there is a sight quite wonderful
Brunel's bridge spanning the Tamar.

The Devon and Cornwall countryside
And the history of Plymouth Hoe
Make this part of England
A tourist's dream ~ I lived there
Myself many years ago.
