Spark Poem by Pathrese Lei Mari Abejuela

Spark

If only a diamond could speak
How it glitters and how it shines.
And not just wait for a man to see
And tell how its beauty, so divine.
The way it sparkles like the sea
Is the way it tames him through the sight.

Be the diamond in his eyes.
The rays of sparkle through the day
Will soon be his for there’s no pay.
A diamond for free
\yet a diamond to be tamed
Is the one he searches in this vast sea.

How precious, how worthless
The glitter on that entity.
How uniquely it shines
Through vagueness then catches his devotion.
O, how they spark
Is like a song of a lark.

When one is tamed
It should be cared for;
For if not, its beauty
Might break
And its spark
Might get lost.
