Speak To Me With Civility Poem by Francis Duggan

Speak To Me With Civility

Rating: 5.0

I have my own worries and some of them not small
Speak to me with civility or do not speak to me at all
Overly assertive and aggressive people I have no wish to know
Since they seem sadly lacking in the inner glow
Of bullies the Human World is not in need
Nowadays too many of their sort far too many indeed
Who can become quite aggressive if they do not have things all of their own way
And that their sort can become community leaders does seem sad to say
Speak to me as an equal on me do not look down
I too am a person though a stranger to wealth and renown
Treat me with respect or else me do ignore
Do not raise your voice in aggression when you knock on my door
Speak to me with civility or do not speak to me at all
Since I have my own worries and some of them are not small.
